Yoga Chakaras

Yoga system has seven main chakaras. These are the energy centre that helps to maintain balance in our body.

  • Sahasrara chakra is located just above the crown of the head.
  • Ajna chakra is located between the eyebrows.
  • Vishuddha chakra is located near the base of the throat.
  • Anahata chakra is located at the heart center.
  • Manipura chakra is located at the navel center.
  • Svadhisthana chakra is located at the pelvis, in patient with anorectal problem, we mainly focus on this chakra.
  • Muladhara chakra is located at the base of the spine.

Benefits of Yoga In Piles, Fissure & Fistula

Piles are inflamed and swollen collection of tissues in the anal canal. Fissure is a small crack or ulcer in ano rectal region. And Fistula is a small tunnel that connects the infected gland inside the anus to an opening on the skin around the anus. Above all problems commonly occur with constipation, being caused by the straining associated with the difficult passage of faeces. Despite popular opinion, they don't necessarily require surgical treatment and are potentially curable by simple yogic exercises. Yoga Asana for Piles/Fissure/Fistula

1. Aswinimudra/Ashvini Mudra/Ashuini Mudra

Ashwini mudra is also called energy lock asanas. Ashwini means horse in Sanskrit. The initial technique quite simple and is done by contracting and relaxing the body muscles, anal region, the anal anatomical sphincter and the entire pelvic region in a rhythmic fashion.

STEPS OF ASHWINI MUDRA

  • Sit comfortably in meditation pose or in pranayama asana or Ardha Padmasana.
  • Take normal breath through your nose and out through your mouth and make yourself comfortable.
  • Close your eyes and control your thoughts to the anal area.
  • Contract your anal sphincter muscles and just try to minify your buttock muscles for as long as possible without torture.
  • Come back to normal pose and repeat this again.

2. Tadasana or Mountain Pose

Tadasana or mountain pose is a standing pose that is very beneficial for joints, buttocks, and abdomen area the body becomes well-proportioned, agile and well-built. Along with increasing the capacity of lungs, it expands the ribcage. In tadasana, the muscles are stretched that improves posture and makes your joints stronger.

STEPS OF TADASANA

  • Stand straight on the ground, with no gap between your feet.
  • Raise your arms over the head, and keep your arms upward by interlocking your fingers.
  • Hold this position for 10 seconds, then come back to normal condition then repeat it again.

Tadasana stretches the entire muscles. This exercise helps to strengthen the lower area for piles, fissure and fistula patients.

3. Padahastasana or Hand under foot pose

It is very simple yoga asana and is perfect for beginners. However, Padahastasana demands flexibility and strength. Padahastasana is ideal for those suffering from abdominal pain and ano-rectal problems. It improves the lower abdominal organs.

STEPS OF PADAHASTASANA

  • First stand straight and then bend yourself slowly in downward direction.
  • Place legs in straight position and touch your finger tips to your toes.
  • Try to touch your chin and knees without bending your knees inward.
  • Hold this position for at least 5 seconds then get back to initial position then repeat it again.
  • You have to do this asana empty stomach in the morning or after 4 to 5 hours of having a meal.

4. Matsyasana (Fish Pose)

Matsyasa Asana is all in one yoga posture with tons of health benefits. People who want to kick off their lannynets can start with Matsyasa Asana to get relief. Matsyasana helps in bleeding, hemorrhoids and constipation problem. Matsyasana is believed to be a counter yoga of Sarvangasana since both are equally beneficial. Matsyasana is highly recommended asana immediately after sarvangasana. Matsyasana treats back pain and skin problems as it helps in purification of blood by supplying oxygen and removing toxins from the body, and helps in the treatment of all ano-rectal problems.

STEPS OF MATSYASANA

  • Sit on the ground with both legs folded on each other, we can say it padmasana or sukasana.
  • Hold the big toes or thrust your hands against the ground and slowly lay down the backside.
  • Placing the crown on the ground, fit your chest and body up and try to make an arc-like shape.
  • Remain in the position for 1 to 2 minutes. Do this 5-10 times for quick results.

Matsyasa Asana should be performed in morning when your bowels and stomach are empty. People who are unable to do this asana and cannot lift up their body can keep a pillow inside their back.

5. Sarvangasana (Shoulder stand)

STEPS OF SARVANGASANA

  • Lie down on the floor with both legs together.
  • Start raising your legs together in the upward direction, until it makes a 90-degree posture.
  • Support your waist with both hands and push your legs back over the head.
  • Entire body weight on shoulders palms supporting the wrists and elbows on the floor. Hold the position for some time, keep normal breathing.
  • Slowly get back to initial position. Take your hands off the waist and come back to sleeping position.
